Why The Dog Died
Fundamental Pool Water Chemistry
The idea of teaching a short “mini-water chemistry” class started in December of 2009 when Elise and I were traveling to the various PoolCorp stores in Southern California promoting our CPO classes.
As we talked to various store managers about this idea, we saw their eagerness and excitement for us to teach a short presentation on Fundamental Pool Water Chemistry for their pool guys. When we stopped at the Superior Pool Products store in Monrovia, CA, we visited with Branch Manager, Erik Hoeckmann. He really jumped on the idea! We immediately had a stand-up meeting with he and his employee, Louie, and brainstormed an intriguing, funny title for the class. So the name, “Why the Dog Died” was born (after all, why would anyone voluntarily go to a class called, “water chemistry class”–right?!) The date and time were set –February 8 at 4:00 p.m.– we were committed!
The class had a GREAT turn-out and we hope to do many more ….
